Newsletter 12: Are You Ready to Smash the Rebound?

It's finally time to say goodbye to the most exhausting year our industry has ever had to endure. It's been filled with loss, layoffs, closures, and uncertainty. If there was ever an opportunity to create a personal best year, 2021 would be it! 2021 is coming at us like a long, slow lob over the net. We have the perfect opportunity to smash the rebound. In order to make this a turning point, you need to shift your paradigm from the same old, same old planning, and goal setting to creating a response commensurate with the opportunity. I firmly believe that 2021 is going to be a recovery, unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. It deserves a well thought out, all in, best ever effort. Even more, if each and every one of us raises the bar to do better, and be better with one another, we can achieve remarkable things.

This could be your moment of truth. The interesting thing about turning points is that we don’t recognize them as they happen to us. It’s only when we look back and realize the following pattern: Moment of Truth Something happens to us, that triggers a response, that calls us to action, and changes our way forward.

In order to make this your moment of truth, pull out all the stops to make something happen. Bang the gong, strike up the band, and shout from the mountain tops, look out 2021, I’m coming for you! Here are three suggestions to take into your “best ever” plan for you and your hotel.

  1. Dream BIG for yourself so that you can lift everyone around you.

  2. Be there before you get there. What would someone who is already where you want to go think, plan and do?

  3. Don’t do it alone. Make it a team effort. Invite friends, colleagues, and mentors into your life to ask for the help you need.

When we say we’re all in this together, we mean, we are here for you, no matter what. Serving the hotel industry is all we do.
